For foreign remittances i.e. payments made outside India, individual is required to file Form 15CA and Chartered Accountant certificate in Form 15CB (wherever applicable) as per Income Tax Act.
These forms were required to be submitted electronically by the taxpayers on e-filing portal and on successful uploading the downloaded Forms 15CA /15CB were then submitted to the authorized dealer.
But this time around, taxpayers were facing difficulty in uploading these forms on the new income tax portal, it was therefore decided by the government to allow the taxpayers to submit Forms 15CA /15CB manually till 30th June vide press release by CBDT on 14.06.2021.
Later the date of submitting Forms 15CA /15CB manually was again extended to 15th July 2021. Press release for the same was issued by CBDT on 05.07.2021.
Now, since the issues in e-filing portal are not yet resolved the Government has once again extended the last date of submitting Forms 15CA /15CB manually till 15th August 2021.
Authorized dealers have also been directed to accept these manually submitted forms till 15th August 2021 for the purpose of foreign remittances.
